At the end of 2023, the permanent population of the province was 10.43 million, an increase of 160000 from the end of the previous year. The urbanization rate of the permanent population is 62.46%, an increase of 0.97 percentage points. In terms of gender composition, there are 5.54 million males and 4.89 million females. From the perspective of age structure, there are 2.05 million people aged 0-15, 6.64 million people aged 16-59, and 1.75 million people aged 60 and above.

Hainan Province is located in the most southern part of China, and includes Hainan Island as well as the Zhongsha, Xisha, and Nansha archipelagoes, and the surrounding sea areas. Among them, the consumption of petroleum processing industry increased by 179.8%, the consumption of chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry increased by 8.3%, the consumption of electricity and heat production and supply industry increased by 19.6%, the consumption of non-metallic mineral products industry decreased by 13.5%, and the consumption of paper and paper products industry decreased by 11.2%.
